Roll it over any printed text and it stamps a patented pattern of letters and shapes in permanent ink. The pattern mixes with the original text so names, addresses and account numbers can't be read. It takes one swipe and no batteries or power.

Is a privacy roller a good alternative to a shredder?

Yes, for everyday mail. A roller covers the personal details in seconds, makes no noise or paper mess, and leaves the rest of the paper whole. Many people use a roller for daily mail and labels and save shredding for full documents.

What can I use it on?

Mail, envelopes, bills and statements, shipping labels on boxes, receipts and prescription bottle labels. Anything with printed personal information.

Regular or Wide: which one should I choose?

Regular is ideal for single lines like a name or account number. Wide gives 1 inch of coverage for shipping labels and blocks of text. Can't decide? Our best-selling Guard Your ID Advanced Roller 4-Pack — Regular & Wide includes both, so you have the right size for every job.

Can I still recycle my mail after using it?

Yes. Because you cover only the personal details instead of shredding the whole page, the paper stays whole and can usually go in your regular recycling. Shredded paper is often too short to recycle.

Can I refill my roller?

It depends on the model. Our best-selling Advanced rollers are built to last a long time and are not refillable; when one finally runs out, simply replace it. Our original Guard Your ID rollers (Compact, Wide and Extra Wide), Camo Tape and stamps take replacement ink refills.  Shop refills
